Hesitation, low performance, shaking

When ever I start my car when it is cold it shakes in P through 1st. It also will hesitate when it goes into the 2000 RPM range. It will kinda jump upto 2500 then back down to 2000. I feels like it wont go past 2000 unless I give it some more gas.
Now when I stop suddenly or hard It will seem like it gets stuck in 4th gear or something. I lose my idle and it doesnt go very fast nor will it down shift if I press the gas upto WOT. I was thinking maybe ignition coils. ANy help would be appreciated.

what do you mean by shakes in P-1? does the car start out idling smooth in P, but then begins to shake as you move the gear selector through the different gears? or does it shake constantly, even in P&N? at what RPM is it shaking?

what happens when you start driving? does the shake go away? or get worse?

when it "hesitates" does it feel like it's upshifting?

when you say "lose your idle" what do you mean? idle drops? car stalls?

when you say "gets stuck in 4th gear", do you mean it does not downshift at all, or just not until you come to a stop?

any codes?

depending on how you answer these questions, I'm almost inclined to say torque converter.

It shakes in park, reverse, nuetral, driver, 2nd and 1st.
It shakes only while idling at about 600 to 1000
The shake goes away after I press the gas.
When it is hesitating it doesnt feel like an upshift. Kinda like in a manual when you down shift you feel the car back off and slow down.
Lose of idle means when I am on a flat surface the car will not move forward like it should.
Yea I do have a CEL. Havent yet checked codes.

mine did this witha bad cts. It threw like 5 random codes but the cts fixed it all. It woud also stall out at random times.

If it is a bad cts is that something I can do myself or do I have to pay someone to do it? Also how do you replace one?

Make sure your MAF sensor is plugged in. If it is, disconnect it and reconnect it to be sure.

I pulled my codes and the only one I have is 0303 front left O2 sensor. could that be the problem?

I think the answer is technically yes - in theory, a bad O2 can cause misfire-like symptoms you describe, although I've never heard of it happening. you can start by replacing it, resetting your ECU, and going from there. I'm surprised you didn't pull any other codes.

you might also pull your plugs to see if the left bank ones are carbon fouled from running rich. I would've thought you'd get 0701 if that were the case.
