Anyone with Traction Control LIKE it?

I've been driving around this winter in the snow and figured I really miss the VLSD of my 3rd gen. I just turn the traction control off every time I get in the car now. Traction control sucks. Anyone actually like it?

I'm in that habit also!! EVERY time I get in the 5.5 gen I always shut it off, it BLOWS, doesn't help at all with avoiding being stuck in the snow either, actually makes it worse in some situation, and if you've ever had it kick in at 40mph it feels like the worst possible thing for your trans, makes the whole car buck so violently and feels like it would result in INSTANT auto trannsmission death

My daughter is home for the weekend with her 93 SE with VSLD. I drove it around a little last night and this morning in the snow and it was like night and day. Her car got around GREAT.

Traction Control is for grandma's. I really don't see how it can prevent many accidents. If you lose traction while cornering, then it has to brake the correct tire in order for it to have proper effect which may help in some cases. When it comes to snow then TCS is a no-no IMO. VLSD and TCS are no where near simular or comparable.

I don't like it, I usually turn it off as well. Plus I don't think ours is true TCS, it just affects the engine rpm's if I'm not mistaken.

I could have sworn when I was looking into getting a 2005 F150 new, they said the Traction Control was for accelleration. It said if the wheels were spinning, the computer would figure which one had more traction and send more power there.???

no open differential can do that. TCS is a braking feature in which the brakes are applied to reduce RPMs to prevent further spinning. Ford is talking about Limited Slip which is transmission based.
