Questions about white gauge cluster swap.

Hey guys i just got in the mail my new white SE gauge cluster and i have a couple questions. I took the bulbs out of the back and it looks like they are just standard #194 model bulbs with a bluish rubber gelcap over the bulb. WTF? lol. Can i replace these bulbs with #194 LEDs? It seems i should be able to do that just fine but i just thought i would ask to make sure before i spend the money. Also besides just replacing the bulbs to make it a brighter more true blue color is there anything else cool i can do to this cluster before installation? Im sure some of you guys have done some experimenting with your SE clusters before installing them. Any ideas you can pass my way would be greatly appreciated!

the only prob with 194 leds is hotspots (spots that are brighter than the rest. the ones that are in there are stock. thats how they make the white looking numbers and such.

search around and check inverted leds usually do the trick could or you can try sanding the tops of the leds to spread the light better

Someone did this a few months ago I believe...they had red "matrix led" bulbs for the 194 that left no hotspots. You can search the bulbs on ebay.
