To all those running IB or want to seal their trunk...

Long story short, some jerk hit my car while I was at class a few weeks back. Hit and run - cracked up my rear bumper real bad. Luckily it was isolated to only the cracked bumper. Today I picked up my painted bumper and installed it.

While installing, I noticed on the drivers side a 7x9 inch hole that let right up into the trunk. In that hole was a plastic flapper vent (not shown in pics). The vent seems to be there to relieve pressure in the trunk as the thing rubber flaps are VERY weak.

pics:

...Just food for thought for those that really want to seal off their trunk. You will have to remove the trunk lining to see the plastic vent. Leads right to the outside of the car.

Eh, **** happens. My deductible was more than it costed me to fix. Also, my rear bumper has been bothering me since the day it was replaced with an aftermarket because the fitment was juuust off...so this was my excuse to replace with OEM.

Haha. I'm good, it's already on the car and I'm already showered. Where is yours rattling?

well its not nearly as bad as before i deadened the trunk and took out the flap, but i get some on the side of the bumpers behind the wheels. It's not that bad because I have the ARC in there sealed, but if I had a ported box in there again, it would rattle much more.

I sealed mine off the day the subs went in. It would flap so loud you could hear it outside the car.

Sorry to hear about the accident though.

Why the apologies? Money comes and goes, I got a new fresh bumper, and taught myself how to replace it. Also got me in the mood to clean my filthy interior too

Yea but you have 70 degree weather to do it in. Today I scrubbed most of the winter salt off all my lower interior panels.
