I was wondering if a place racing cold air intake would make a big difference over a stillen or Jim Wolf intake. has anyone had experience with both??

There probably is a difference of about 2-4hp (if that). I just went with the traditional K&N panel w/OSCAI.

The noise that comes from those intakes is very loud, so if you don't want a loud hissing sound at all times then don't buy one!

Actually, those intakes don't make too much of a racket until about 3000 RPMs. Its a rather pleasant sound though.

my friend had a stillen hi flo intake and switched to place racing cai. he told me that performance is about the same, but the cai is louder. also, you got to remember that pr cai installation requires drilling a whole in your car...

They are exactly the same size. The JWT only has a slightly shorter rubber flange on it. The filter sizes are literally identical.

I heard from people that the Stillen high flow intake is bad, it only gives a little bit more high end torque but it kind of steels the low end torque. If you want to go on something good then do the OSCAI/K&N filter combination. If you want something simialr to Stillen then the JWT popcharger is better, but the PRCAI is the best intake performence wise

Thanks all for your input. Currently I have a Stillen and am considering swapping for either Place cold air, or OSCAI. Today I took my Stillen off and was conteplating on what to do. Looks like I'm gonna have to do a poll. Thanks again guys

One Solution?

Take a look at this tread I started:

Technically I see no reason why this would not work. Just trying to figure out the best way to do it.
