Hi, I’m new to the 5th Generation forum; I just purchased a 2001 SE, with Auto and the convenience package. And I paid $25,160 including all… is this too much for a car without a Bose? Do you guys think this is a good price? And is there anything I should know..

Congratulations on your new Maxima SE. I'm sure it will give you endless joy behind the wheel. After all...Cars Like It: 0.
The price you paid isn't a bad one for an out-the-door price, but it all depends on where you got it from as different parts of the country charge different prices. Now is the best time to pick up a Maxima since you probably got a much better deal than those of us who got ours before this past Spring.
As for things you should know:
1) Nissan paint sucks. If you don't protect your paint soon, you'll probably begin to see paint chips. Get a good polish and/or wax to protect the paint and make your car extra snazzy looking. Lots of people here swear by the Zaino Bros. brand of polish, and if you check out the testimonials on their website, you should be very impressed.
2) To help protect against the chips, consider a bra (Colgan Custom, LeBra, etc.), Carflector, or 3M clear bra.
3) If you want to have a better performing Maxima, just hang around this site and you'll catch mod fever before you know it. If you have the budget for it, I'm sure you'll get into it.
4) The folks here are the best. They all are very helpful and have the coolest attitudes. No matter if one has a simple GXE or a loaded GLE or SE-AE, everyone is welcome and egos are usually put away.
Have fun!
