Maxspeed's installed w/Tokico Blues. Spring position issue??. Look...

I originally posted this in the 5th gen section, but realized I'd prob get more hits here...

I installed Maxspeed's with Tokico HP's today and was looking over the FSM again tonight. I noticed something that concerned me.

According to the FSM, there is a specific way the strut should have been installed so that the spring sits on the perch a certain way. If you look at the diagram below, the red arrow points to where my driver side rear spring meets the strut perch and where Nissan states it should be. My passenger side matches the FSM correctly.

Is this an issue?

I had thought the rear top hats as well as the struts were universal, not like the fronts, but now I am wondering.

Any assistance would be great. If it's wrong, I'll just drop it out and twist it so the strut is turned a complete 180 degree.

Oddly enough, my left rear toe is 0.10 degrees and my right rear is -0.25 degrees. So the incorrect one according to FSM is within given range for toe and the correct one is out of range. Argh!

I'm suprised that none of the DIY'ers who have installed struts on their 5/5.5 gens have replied.

Basically, I have two simple questions that maybe can be answered easily:

1. When you look at your rear driver side strut, do you see the Tokico sticker facing you or not? This should apply to both HP's and Illumina's and might apply to other brands, but I have Tokico's so...
2. Are the rear top hats uni-directional or not?

Come on puppetmaster, irish, etc.? Where you guys at?

Brandon, if issues arise from them not being installed per the FSM, I'm sure I have them since I didn't follow it.

From your email it sounds like you're pretty pleased with this setup. I'm curious to see how your car rides vs mine since we have the same setup and I didn't trim my bump-stops. Congrats on getting them done. Next time, hit me up...it won't take as long to get them installed
