any advances?
I drove my friend's 4th gen Max. I felt very <<BIG>> different between my 5th gen Max and his.
Isn't it too late to updated it?
If not updated it, will hurt the tranny for long?

thanks for answer!

If you don't feel the problem to try to fix it. (If it ain't broke).

For Max'n out you better do the service before the SC or else you will get no service at all.

Get both the solenoids and TCM updated! My dad's 2k I30 is finally updated with all the latest and it's great, like a whole new car. Got the 3Y101 TCM back in September 2000, before the latest TSB. Then got the 85X04 solenoids in May. Then I just got the 3Y160 TCM the other day. Each step involved taking the Master tech for a ride to demonstrate slip, then they order the part, when the part comes in I get a postcard and call for an appointment. The solenoids came in fast but the TCM took about a month to arrive! They must be on backorder. The solenoids made a huge difference in all 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, but there was still an occasional 1-2 lag. The TCM fixed that.
As you can see, this will involve a minimum of 4 visits to your dealer, but it's worth it. The visits to demonstrate slip are very short, about 15 minutes. They have to keep the car most of the day when doing solenoid or TCM replacement.

i have close to 21k on my 2001 car, but i don't feel this slip, but i still want to get this done....

i took one of the dudes standing out where you bring your car for a ride, actually he took me for the ride. he drove the car. he said he didn't notice anything. he said his wife has a 2000 and it was really noticeable.

is it really really noticeable?

Yea, I've gotta play stupid on this one, but what are you guys talking about? - TCM? Please explain this procedure to us dumb guys who aren't grasping this concept! Replacing the solenoids? - What does this do? I've got a 2KSE 5spd - what should I be looking for? Sorry for the stupidity!
