You will lose a little low end torque, but you gain some up top. HP is slightly greater at peak. To utilize the MEVI to it full potential, you need a raised rev limit at the least, and ideally a JWT ECU (programed correctly for your mods of course), or better yet....the Emanage Ultimate. However, the EU is only for intermediate to experienced DIY'ers IMO, and installation is not plug and play.

Search, there are plenty of threads about this.

would getting jwt ecu, cattman headers/ypipe,pulley kit, cattman full catback exhaust regain all the low end power im losing.or would it be better to say screw the mevi and get all the other stuff and make it faster that way

The power/torque loss is in the mid-range not low end, which is worse IMO. Basically your engine will be less powerful until about 5500 RPM.

The JWT ECU would/should regain your midrange plus the extended rev will compliment the full potential of the MEVI. Even w/ stock ECU you'll see benefits from the MEVI since the USIM chokes out around 5200RPM.
But getting all that air in and restricting the flow out isn't going to give you much gains. I'd start with exhaust 1st

If anything the auto takes better to the MEVI since the gears are horrendously long.

Why do you guys call it "Mevi"? It's just a Japanese Domestic Market intake manifold with NICS (Nissan Induction Control System).. there's no such thing as "Mevi"..

We all know nissan doesn't call it that. But that's been the generally accepted term for 5+ years or so and it'll stay that way. Same with the Revup 350Z motor. That's not an official nissan name either but it's the easiest way to differentiate it from the 287 HP motor so it sticked.

BTW, it was also offered in parts of the world other than Japan.

I believe because the very first orger to have one and do a group deal for the community sourced them from the Middle East. Then, that orger stole a bunch a money from fellow orgers during a MEVI group deal that went sour. He disappeared from the face of the earth. That's how I've heard the story go. I'm sure an OG member will remember and chime in/clarify....

Cool.. I always wondered why it was called "Mevi".. I couldn't find anything from Nissan using that term.. which is why I asked.

I was just adding some additional background history of the "MEVI", and directly answering his question. Yes, it's old news.

Sorry OP, back on topic.

Hence why, I'm just going to end up going back to the stock manifold. I liked the mevi (in my case jpvi) when i lived in MA because I drove about 80 everywhere. I drive at lower speeds now that I'm in NC and need my mid range toque back.
