Ive just about finished up a project involving the removal of my engine. The engine is back in the car, and i started it back up for the first time. The car starts great and runs just like before. Now, however, if i remove the key to turn off the car it just keeps running. I disconnected the battery and it still ran then shut off after about 10 seconds. This shutoff also happened to occur right during the time we were messing with the wiring harness that attaches to the positive side of the battery (the one with the red flip top that you normally place over the positive terminal). Im in school right now, and trying to go back and forth every day to finish this project. I will work on it more tomorrow after i get out. If anyone has ever ran into this situation, or might have some good ideas as to what may be wrong, please chime in. Thanks guys.

 

Probably an ignition problem.

Did you do a 3.0 > 3.0 swap or something custom ?

I actually pulled the engine to remove the egr, install new headers, and paint the engine bay. They bay was the last thing left tan on my car form the old days and i need it blue for shows in the future.
