I need seats...but what?

My interior seats are rocked. Its tan leather but the leather is shot. Rips, holes, wear, just overall nasty. I called a junkyard looking for some seats, they said they had some in tan, in excellent condition for $175 for all + any interior part I wanted too. So I go there and they show me the car but the seats were almost as bad as mine, Im mean what a waste of time. Im not concerned about keeping the seats that are in there and I do a fair share or drag racing at NYIRP and I moght auto-x this year so I was think of maybe just getting some racing seats for the front? But, Im not loaded with money so I was looking at the ebay cheapo racing seats, the black leather ones:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2469&rd=1&rd=1

I have a rear seat cover in black leather that would oprobably go good with them and then I could dye the leather inserts on the doors black too with some VHT dye.....but is all this ricey? What else could I do?

I'm in the same boat as you. I have tan leather interior but I'm converting to black. I have everything done but the seats. I was looking at those seats also.

Hey, I just thought about something. Maybe we could trade or something. I want to get rid of my tan interior. The seats are in good shape. There is a small rip but it's by the seat controls. The drivers is power. I could really use those black rears too. Isit leather. PM me so we can maybe work something out.

Yeah shipping is a pain. I just really want the black leather seats. I would even go with a black cloth seat.

If i were you id go for a set of 350z seats, or for that maybe G35C seats. Ive also heard RSX seats will work too. Much better, especially if your smaller like me, i move around all the time in my stock 4g seats, but when i get into a Z the seats actually hold me, so its a lot nicer when driving the car harder.

I need something that is black leather and doesn't require fabrication so if any of those meet that requirement that would be great. Its just that i've located a mint set of power fronts from a 5th gen.

Correct me if I'm wrong but 5th gen seats are not direct bolt-ons, they'd require some fabrication similar to Z and G35 installs. If you found a way to install the seats you could tap into a power source for the powered feature. I know the reason Z/G seats can be installed is Nissan seats have the similar design where they are able to be bolted onto to our seat pans, with some creative bolt-on work for the lower cushion. So I'd be interested to find out if RSX and other non-Nissan seats could be installed with a similar strategy, without welding in brackets.

I'd just stay away from the cheap racing seats and wait for a good condition set of 4th Gen seats to pop up. Just because comfort, quality, and durability are worth questioning on a pair of seats less than $100.

then you need 4th gen seats. any seats besides 4th gen seats need to be fabricated to fit. Kind of a given. If you have a deal than do it. You just need to take out the 4th gen seats, take out the frames, and figure out the new holes on the rails for the 5th gen seat and drill them. Then put the rear seats in too.

Yeah I already have the rear seats covered. If it was a given then there wouldn't be another post asking about it right before me.

krismax put in the RSX seats on his car, they are FAR from direct bolt on. He had to fab up a custom bracket toh ave the same anchor points as the RSX so the seat would bolt up. Its on the General Forum right now if you want to take a peek.
