repairing damaged clearcoat on rims

What can be done about damaged clearcoat on aluminum rims? Is there a way to buff off the clearcoat and polish the underlying aluminum?

Well, what a response, right?
Here's a website I found for my area, just got my Maxima in March, but 3 rims are scratched:

Hopefully you can find something or someone similar around your area.

I was thinking of sanding or polishing off the clear coat and just polishing the aluminum to a high shine. I hoping some one might have attempted that already and could give advise.
