Look at what I did!!

So, after reading countless write-ups and diys and hours of building up the courage, I finally tackled my retrofit. It took alot longer than I thought it would and I'm still not completely done yet, but at least they are operational. I have to give big props to my partner in crime JLTIBBS. Whenever he finally gets his bulbs we will have the first retofits in Middle TN. But at least mine are done first and I can watch him drool over them. I will get some night pics up later on tonight.

Started out looking like this:

I got a set of Audi A6 single xenon projectors from eBay. Cost me 45 bucks shipped. They have great cutoffs and are a great alternative to the high-priced TL or TSX's

And this is my baby now!! Corner lights, lamps, and eyelids provided by JLTIBBS. Thanks bro.

Excuse my dirty car. I just got back from a trip to ATL when I took the picks. I am very very satisfied. I haven't got flashed once. Well once when I had one of the projectors aimed a little high( the reason for the eyelids). I am running a Phillips kit with 6K bulbs.

Congrats. Looks good. Is that nite shades spray that you used on your bumper lights and clearance lights?

You got a great price on the projectors. What was the total cost and time spent on the retro. I am very interested in doing some this summer.

I'm not a fan...they look like an after thought...but of course rules are more lax down south regarding inspections

Congrats on your retrofit. Those projectors have some big bowls on them, did you have to cut anything off of it? I know those projectors can be modded to have real nice color.

Man, great job. Welcome to the club! BUT, I suggest to invest some money into the shrouds. They will greatly improve the looks and and will save you from questions like "what is that ghetto foil there?"

It cost about 300 for everything. That was the projectors, bulbs, ballasts, and harnesses(handmade). I got an awesome deal from a guy on HIDplanet.com. I actually only took me about 5 hours. It probably should have taken longer, but it was actually alot easier than I thought it would be.
We did JLTIBBS first but we didn't have his bulbs and were gonna share a spare set of haedlamps, so I just decided to go at it last week.

Yeah, the bowls are huge. I ended up having to shave down the bottom of the bowl and the cutoff shield. Pretty much had to level off the bottoms. I ended up to color mods to both. The right is modded to be blue and purple and the left is yellow. The left projectors cutoff isn't as sharp as the right though.

Thanks man. Yeah shrouds are next up. I'm actually waiting to get some R34's. Then I'm gonna put these in there and have a small ***lamp in there so I can have a high beam. I did use some ghetto foil. I made the enclosure out of chicken wire and wrapped it with Aluminum tape. Then I painted the tape and wrapped it in silicone stretch tape. I tried to make some shrouds but the lens on these projectors is 2.78 inches and not 2.5 like I thought. So we put on the eyelids to help cover up the fake shroud.

It's all good. No I didn't use 9004 bulbs. I used HID ballasts and bulbs. The bulbs are D2S. You can also use an HID conversion kit that uses the 9004 bulbs.

Good to know...I will now read up on them and I am beginning to want them more and more. Sounds like the $300 was well spent.

Light output is 10 times better than stock. I actually never use the high beams so that's why i went with songle xenon. I don't need them with these either. I can see about 40 to 50 feet in front of the car.

Mine never had the rubber seal to begin with. I sealed them back up and put some extra silicone around them for added safety.
