steering rack boots torn? Should I worry?

Haven't noticed the car driving weird lately, however:

both inner tie rods were loose, and in the process of removing them, I noticed my steering rack boots were both torn. The rack doesn't appear to be leaking...as far as I can tell anyway.

Replacing everything else as I describe in my other thread:http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=519282

I would not worry. I would replace the boots and move on.

like dgeesman said replace them. If you don't replace them then dust and dirt will eventually break the seals then you will have a problem.

How in the *** do you get the driver side boot on? Got the pass side on no problem, no room to get that thing on there.....

turn the wheel to the right all the way.. it will push out the left tie rod end making it more easily accessible.
