$350 Shipped for 5spd Tranny?

Came across this link for a 5 speed swap and I was eyeing it for a potential swap in my 98 auto. It has 90k miles and tested working and even comes with speed sensor and mount ..... is this too cheap? too expensive? I am extremely tempted but scared also to undertake this huge project, or who here reccommends a complete 3.5 swap instead ?

As of this post the price is $150 with a $200 shipping quote out to my zip code in south cali....

any thoughts?

Heres the link, I don't really mind if some other org member gets it, just playing with ideas in my head,

THanks everyone!

I love how people interchange going 5 speed or doing the VQ35.

Even at that price, if it is worked over you can get it rebuilt or buy the rebuild kit and get it done yourself.

Why not just do both at the same time?

Do you have a 4th gen? Because if so that transmission won't fit. That is a 3rd gen transmission. You would have to swap the transmission case on it - not sure where you'd get one of those by itself or how much it'd cost.

In addition, I'd also be wary of that auction because the guy claims it is a limited slip trans, and then neglects to show a picture of the driver's side of the trans which is the only way to identify a limited slip trans externally.

I would agree. Or finding a decent 5 speed Maxima before one get's "too deep" into modding an automatic.
