The brake and battery light come up together while I drive on random occasions. I cannot figure out what the hell is wrong... I pretty much came down to the conclusion that it is an electrical gremlin.

I checked my brake fluid reservoir, lines, pads, brakes, everything checks out.
The alternator works fine as it provides power to all my electronics and the engine with out a hitch.
The battery is fine as the car has no starting problem and starts up from first crank every time.

The ONLY thing I notice is that when these two lights come up, the car idles at 750 RPM, otherwise it'd idle at 650 RPM.

What. The. Fwak.

Crap - so I started the car, then disconnected the battery and the car died.

So - are the max's supposed to die when batteries are disconnected - or am I **** out of luck?

Get a load test done on the charging system at autozone. And check the ALT fuse next to the batt as well.

Just saw your post, your alt is dead/dieing.

Are the kragen alternators any good? They have an autolite one for 150 with lifetime warranty.
