Changing guage bulbs

I know you're all going to say search and look for it yourself, but I have and now I have a few questions about it.

Well I have already changed the bulbs behind the guages once before to green, i used the standard 194 bulbs. After maybe half a year some of them have lost the green color, so some are a yellowish color and some are green. I was just curious about what other people have used for bulbs/leds to change the color of the guages.

So if you could please tell me:
what you are using for bulbs/leds?
Where you got them?

Thanks
Stephen

I have replaced mine probably about 5 times. I've used the regular blue bulbs before, but they turned green. Then I switched to LED's. If you go LED's, which I prefer... use a bulb with many LED's in it, for brightness purposes. Here's an example http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-1...24085539QQrdZ1

i just did mine to red leds this last weekend. i just replaced each bulb with a led and resistor soldered. then i also added an extra led/resistor right behind each needle. its a little dim though. part of it is just because i chose red where as white or blue would be brighter.

i did mine red. bought from superbrightleds.com

they have led bulbs in the 194 size. ebay is a ripoff for these led bulbs. i went with the 5led form because wanted as much light spread. dont go for straight out brightness for itll cause hotspots, but if you look on their site you can see the 5-led is widest and spreads the most light out
