I vote RB26 or redtop SR20, they're both direct boltin, with awesome stock power. If you're an automatic you have to relocate the stock exhaust. Don't listen to these newbs, VQ35 won't even fit in the engine bay, much less run.

why screw with him? haha

What are you trying to do? Are you doing a random engine swap? Or do you want to know what maxima engines you can swap? I would only think about 3.5. Much more work and you need to know what you are doing but it has much more power then the DE-K (which is an easier swap). How equipped are you and what are you looking for?

an RB26DE fits in the maxima and is a direct bolt in? I'm not big on engine swaps so I've never looked in the all motor forum is this really possible?

Okay, I lied about the RB, but the Ford flathead isn't too big of a deal to shoehorn in there. Just be careful with that, it's an interference engine and the valve covers are prone to leak, also nearly impossible to find those gaskets anymore.

if your looking for just a low mileage than go for a de-k. Very little is required to make it work. But if you want power than the 3.5 is the way to go. Just keep in mind that you need to make alot of adjustments and there's some customizing involved.
