for those with LED switch-backs for turn-signals

I have the LED switch-back bulbs from autolumination for my turn-signal bulbs. I have already exchanged one of the bulbs because when I held the brake the whole thing would flicker like crazy. Now the other side is kind of doing the same thing, but only after I pump and hold the brake a few times.

My question is, IF I were to install the resistors, then would that aid in preventing the flickering? I'm kind of hesitating on installing the resistors because I don't want to splice into the harness and within a few months have the LEDs burnout completely and be SOL. Or is it possible to take the resistors off without screwing up any of the wiring?

I know that there are only a few out there that have this mod with the resistors, but anyones input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
dan

I have a set for the front still sitting on the shelf and you got me worried. Didn't you install these like 3 months ago? Are you only having problems with rear bulbs or front ones too?

I hope we get a response from Jay or GEC as they have most experience with these.

Only thing I have in the rear is the license plate LEDs and reverse LEDs. The front consists of the turn-signal LEDs and the cornering LEDs. And yes, I did get these a few months ago and within a week or so of having them, my passenger side turn-signal started flickering like crazy when I held my brake (one of the white LED rows were burnt out, so they exchanged it for free) and now my driver side is slightly getting to the same point. After I pump my brake a few times it flickers ever so slightly, but enough for me to notice!

I never installed the resistors for this exact reason. I wasn't sure if you could take the resistors out without having the wiring all cut up and still have it function normally, which is why I never installed the resistors.

so ya, any feedback would be great

You do have to do some wire splicing in order to get the resistors to work. Sorry to hear about your problems, I have had my switchbacks for over 6 months and (knock on wood) there have been no issues.

ya, I know that.

with the resistors came 4 little splicing clip things, but my question is, would it be alright if I were to connect the resistors and down the road if I took them off would there be any problems with the wiring?

There would be no problems down the road. If you decided to remove them you can just wrap some electrical tape on the insulation where the clip-ons used to sit and you'll be good to go.

Minew were fine for almost a year then on started to flicker, so I replaced it and within a week a few of the wht's weren't lighting up. I switched to regular amber LED's for now until they sort out any problems with them...
For the record the other original one still works fine.

And as for adding the resistors, you will be fine. Just go to a regular LED like I did they still look better than stock anyways!

so it's just the switch-back technology that hasn't been perfected yet?
