To me knowlage there are two types of SC's that stillen makes(or made) for our max's, the V1 and the current V2. My question is that at the Stillen maxima day (6/9), There was a white 4th gen max that had an sc and was dynoed, I want to know if all SC'ed 4 gens have that squeeling sound. The 5th gen stillen max that was dynoed didnt have that sound. What SC's dont make that much noise? (at idle)

The very last V1's and the V2's are the quiet ones...
Older V1's can be sent to Vortech to be upgraded to the new quieter equipment.

Why doesn't the 5th gen supercharger have a blow off valve?

It has a bypass valve. If I remember right. The SC is downstream of the MAF. If there was a BOV that vented to the outside air, the ECU would get confused because it had already measured that air, thus the car would run rich. the excess pressure just vents back into the intake before the SC.

Or maybe it just has a BOV...

It does, but it's not the same location as the 4th gens. It's near the throttle body... check out the attached image.

I have a nice little pile of $3000 saved up for a special occasion.

Unfortunately I live in Canada and can expected to be a) get jacked up at the boarder, b) get jacked up by additional $1500 I have to pay to get US funds, and that's on a deal .. $2000+ on a so-so deal, and c) figure out how to get it installed.

I'm a mediocre mechanic, and I'd love to take the car apart and try to install it over the summer, just because I'm not relying on it for anything (except school but that ends in 2 weeks) .. The only issue left standing is a) s/c + stock wheels = poop? b) n/a + stock wheels = poop? (hehe), and c) smuggling s/c across the boarder. If I find a way to pull it off, and keep my stockers, I will have it sooooon! :vampire:

Ereet go down to the states and hook up with someone from the .org and install down there and drive back. No tax, no duty, no pain in the a$$ border, less for shipping, etc.

bluh

Sounds like a plan. WHO WANTS TO INSTALL AN SC FOR ME FOR NO CHARGE?

*watches nobody put up their hand*

Hehehe. Thought about that already and it's possible, but unless I find someone who really knows what they're doing, and really loves installing SC's for little/no price and are experienced enough at it to do it fast enough, it wouldn't happen. Anyone in NY interested?

Drive to Cali and I'm sure Turbo95Max and I will install it for you. Just make sure it's a new kit because we don't want Turbo95Max going crazy........ again.
