Need some expert advice!

So I have had a hard start issue with my 95 se 5 spd. for over a year or longer now. I have tried a few "fixes" and am still experiencing it. It seemed like it was hard to start when the car was warm, but started better when it was cold, also it seemed that the hard starts were worse and occurred more when I was low on gas. So I thought it was a fuel problem. Since then I have changed the fuel filter, switched back to stock intake, cleaned TB, new IAC valve, new coolant temp sensor, 3 new injectors in the rear bank (two of them went bad), added a 4 ga. ground to the starter, seafoam in the brake booster and tank. Well the problem is still there and now it is getting worse. Any thoughts? I think I need to take it to someone to diagnose, what should my next move be? Stealership? Pepboys?

I think it may be a bad fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator, or it could be my rebuilt Bosch (POS) starter that I have had for the last 4 and half years. I tried checking the vacuum line attached to the fuel pressure regulator, but it looked clean and clear. Please help!!!

You might try running another ground wire from your tranny bolt to neg. battery terminal...thats what helped mine.

Hard starts when the tank is low is normal but if it's getting worse it could be the fuel pump. As for the hard starts when the car is warm as long as there is no fuel system problems this is normal also, I think it's one of the great mysteries of fuel injection I know a lot of people who have trouble starting the car after it has been running a while. I think the ECU just puts too much or
too little fuel into the engine the sensors get an inaccurate reading, (especially if they are older) from the hot humid air radiating off the engine.

Dealer wants $105 to diagnose the problem. I guess I will just have to bite the bullet soon.

Have you posted in the regional forum?

The Haynes manual (page 0-22) details some causes of what to look for when the engine is hard to start when cold or hot.
