Car shakes at 70+mph

Ok so im not sure how else to describe this except that the car has a slight vibration that is not normal at just about 70 mph exactly (2500rpm) and it gets slightly worse as the speed increases im not exactly sure what could be causing this it seemed to have appeared about 2 months ago the only thing i had done prior to this shaking/vibrating was change the plugs... have no cel codes at the moment just fixed an o2 and knock sensor code plus im getting the struts replaced this sunday im just wondering if this could be an alignment issue or possibly a tire issue because the front tires are not in the greatest condition. Thanks for any input.
its a 96 gxe auto 117,000

balance the wheels...the balance could be off...but if the tires are chopped up or the tread is worn unevenly, it wont matter if the balance is good.

Get a tire balance, if that doesn't work, than you need new tires.

if your tires have uneven wear, ditch em. if not, balance and alignment should cure it. perhaps a bend rim could cause this too

It might be your tires. Mine shook when I went 75+, had them all replaced with new rims and never had a shake again

Alignment and new tires or try and balance the current ones like everyone has stated.

Is driving with the tires in the back worn unevenly bad at all, or just annoying?

well just like everyone else has said, mount and balance. sounds like a tire issue though.

Good Heavens, you need rear spacers.

Rear tires that are worn in a chopped/cupped pattern will not run right, they will always bounce a bit even if they are balanced. Since there isn't as much weight in the rear and the rear springs are not as heavy it can cause a vibration throughout the car. You would feel it more it the seat of your pants than in the steering wheel. The same thing goes for good tires not balanced properly.
