i was coming home from a local club and my friend had his acura 3.2 TL and i had my 96' max se auto and we decided to race a little. we raced on several accounts and i beat him every time, from a stop, from about 80km/h to 170/km starting 20km/h making a left turn, any which way u put it i won every time i was surprised cuz the TL have like 35 more hp than my stock max. im impresses, my maxi did really well tonite im proud of her

P.S me and my friend that owns the acura were arguing that he says that the tiptronic has 5 gears but when its in auto mode it only has 4 gears i dont beleive this, but is it true ?

 

Good kill, but I think the TL is supposed to be quicker if both of you are stock.

 

You have mods? I have a 595 5 speed with intake and y pipe and just won 0-100 by 3-4 cars lengths

 

all i have is a k&n drop in filter thats it
i was soo surprised that i beat him cuz i knew that they were supposed to be quicker
he did have a full tank of gas and a passanger and i was almost empty tank of gas and was alone but i dunno

 

I am totally stock in the performance department, and I have done this as well. We both had passengers, I don't remember who had how much gas. You have to remember that the 1999 TL had a 4-speed automatic, and the 2000-2001 had a 5-speed. I raced a 1999 and I killed him pretty easily. I also raced a 2001 and he had my by a little up to 50 MpH and from then we were neck and neck. Only thing is he stopped at 80 MpH and I went to 100 MpH. Talked to him the next day...HE GOT A TICKET!!!! I am too luck ! Anywayz, the TL is fair competition if you race the newer 5-speed transmissions. The Type-S will whoop us though...one whooped my friend's hopped 240 SX. Just trying to help
