Painting Valve Cover

Hey guys,

I see many of you have painted the plastic valve/pack cover. How would I do that, also what paint did you use. Thanks!

NO..

It's called a coilpack cover though and you can use regular plastic paint of any sort and then I would recommend clear coating it.

Wash, sand, hi-temp paint, clear coat, done. Be sure to rub lacquer thinner on the "NISSAN" letters before clearcoat if you don't want those painted.

Hell, I used regular Rustoleum on my front VC and after a couple months now, no issues with bubbling or anything. Looks the same as my UIM/IACV, which were done with engine enamel.

Hmm.. I've always enjoyed the imagine of a blacked out engine bay. However the heat issue always kept me away from painting the IM..

It's most likely marginal at best but egh w/e.

I thought you were talking about painting the valve covers themselves...but anyway, a good place to check out getting anything like intake manifolds & valve covers painted is TRGCoating.com

I always sand surfaces before I paint them. Maybe it's just a personal thing, though.

High-temp paint is for peace of mind.
