Just went from having a 4th gen max to a 6th gen max so my knowledge on what size rims to get are a little lacking..... Friend of mine has a set of rims that are 18x8.5 from his honda that i am thinking of buying from him. Obviously 18's will fit but will a 8.5 wide be too wide?

Honda is the same pattern if it's an Accord V6. My answer was no, they are not too wide.

 

I have 9" wide rims but it all depends on offset. There is a guy here on the forum that has sickest looking 10.5" in the rear and with proper offset it works.

114.3 bolt pattern is what you need, same on accord? I have18x8.5 w/ 35 offset, looks perfect to me

 

These are the statistics for a 2004-2007 Maxima rim:

Bolt Pattern - 114.3 mm
Offset - 35.0 mm
Center bore - 66.0 mm
Width - 7.5 Inches

I don’t know anything about Honda rims, but check the center bore measurement. The center bore measurement is really important. Even if the rims share the same bolt pattern, if the Honda’s center bore measurement is smaller than our Maxima’s center hub, the rim will not fit. If the center bore is larger than the Maxima’s center hub, the rim will fit but be “loose.” The rim may always be slightly off center with respect to the brake assembly. It also means the rim/tire’s weight will rest directly on the lugs, which can lead to bad vibrations and rim damage. (Actually, once the tire is on the ground the car’s weight rests on the rim. That weight needs to be on the rim’s center hub, not the rim’s lug nut holes.)

To ensure a proper fit, the center bore must be exactly 66.0 mm. If the Honda’s center bore is larger than 66.0mm, you may be able to purchase spacers to reduce the hole size to 66.0mm. A great source of info for this kind of stuff is the Tirerack. Good luck.

Anyone running with the Kosei K3? Would those rims fit the 6th gen, since their offset is 36mm 17" 7J...? Thanks in advance!

 

I just installed, 18x9 with 40/275s and 18x8 in the back, and they fit just fine with some extra space to spare, I think im doing 23ish offset
