Starting Problem Looooooong Starts
okay this usually happens after there is a change in weather and the car sat through it for like 6 hours. either rain or a raise/drop in temperature it seems. i have to hold my key longer for the car to start. takes maybe 2 seconds for it to start, instead of the very quick starts i've had before. the problem seems to get worse every week. i have to hold the key in the start position longer, it seems like it might not start then it finally does. i had a CEL for an o2 sensor and knock sensor. i replaced the o2 sensor last night and i had a long hard (no homo) start problem today after it rained. HELP ME!
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have the same problem, if you wiggle the key while you have it cranked, it should catch and start up, I order the egnition switch from dave b the parts guy and am just waiting for it. Supposed to be real easy to fix.

Basically, a symptom of a bad ECTS is loooonngggg starting after you've driven the car for a while and let it sit for a little bit (until its warm, not "hot" or completely cold).
I would drive the car, so it would be "hot" or @ operating temp., then i'd park and leave it for an hour or so. If i went back to start it after it sat for 1hr+, it would take me 3X more cranking to get to turn over.
Of course, outside temperatures have an influence in houw fast the engine cools down.

I replaced the ignition switch and it was a b!tch because of my Viper alarm.
The starter was replaced about 3 or 4 months ago.
