Ok, I need official help! (that's what she said too! hehehe) I have loooookkkkeeedddd for a "how to" on wiring bi-xenon lights, but I am having a hell of a time.

I found one diagram on HID Planet here ::: http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36831 ... but I am confused. Not only cause this is for a Subaru, but I will only have the A6 projectors in the HL housing. The diagram shows having the HID and a Halogen, but I won't have the Halogen, hence the reason for Bi-Xenon ... right?

I understand that you have to wire in a diode (and a relay? were can I get the relay I will need?) for the high switch to activate the arm on the projector. I guess I am confused on just how to do this, and then what about "flash to pass"? Can someone please clue me in or point me to a more conclusive thread / site? PLEASE! I want my high beams and my low beams too.

i just purchased a plug and play kit from e bay and i was done from there
i had to mount a ground and tuck wires so they didnt look bad!!!

i do know that you wont have to worry about different types of bulbs and so on as long as the wireing scematics say that it is for both hi and low beam you should b fine

Our cars use a 9004 socket and are positive-switched.



The strange thing between the high beam and low beam positive wires is called a diode, it only lets electricity through one way so it's important that you install it in the pictured orientation.

 

Morpheus Zero ~~~~ Thanks mate! This helps a ton! I am not sure what relay to get and were to get it. I don't think it'll come with my D2S system. Maybe, but I doubt it. Also, is there a certain size of Diode that I need? This clears things up SOOOOO much.

96Nismo .... I have looked at the kits on Ebay, but I would rather wire it myself to be honest. Not that I don't trust "their" wiring, but I know I can trust mine. Also, there is a sense of accomplishment by doin it on my own ... ok well with the help of the Org! lol

Relay point 86 are the positive wires for the high and low beams. Just somewhere inbetween the relay 86 and the 9004 socket, there can be a diode connecting the both positive wires.

Thank you SOOO much! That is Sticky worthy in my book mate! Can we get a mod to second that? I should have my ballasts tomorrow, so - it's go time. I am nervous, but at the same time, I know I'm handy enough I can do it. I just want it to look good too. I'll try to post pix when I'm done, not sure when that'll be ... but none the less.

Nice job on the diagram!

 

if you want to hook them up to your corner lights/running lights. connect the green wire to a positive wire on your corner lights. whenever you put your running lights on they will turn the low beams on. you only need 1 relay. some people like to put small resisters in front of the solenoid positive wire because they get hot sometimes. Not bad for a diagram i drew when i was hungover:-p

 

ok im gonna give this out one more time and thats it... this was supposed to be stickied but nobody seems to care..

 

that 2nd relay is overkill, you only need a 2nd relay if your using another bulb set up for a cleaner connection. The solenoid only needs minimal wattage and like .nothing for volts to operate. so the stock high beam wires are fine to power solenoid. and when u use the high beams. the high beam wire sends the tiny amount of electric to the low beam wire which draws power from the battery anyways. no need for a 2ndary relay IMO

i put 2 relays in so that it would equal the initial load of the 2 ballasts... i checked the initial current to run 1 ballast at start up it was about 10 amps... so i put in another relay for the other ballast so that im not burning up any relays...

do it once and do it right is my moto....

 

they ballast will still get the same draw. and the same amps since they still draw from the battery direct. the diode just flips the switch to allow them to draw from the battery.... so ur way isnt RIGHT, they both work. my way just uses less wires:-p

 

no they wont... each relay will split the draw of 20 amps total from both ballasts during initial start up... aka it lightens the load for each relay...

its like having 2 sources drawing 15 amps each... why would i use 1 30 amp relay when i can use 2 30 amp ones....

 

I will use a realy for each ballast, overkill maybe, but I would rather have overkill than not enough by all means.

Most of the Bi-Xenon Projectors out there have only 2 wires coming out of the projector itself. Does anyone here know how the FX35 Bi-Xenon Projector works?

There is a Yellow wire connected to the projector body
and two Red wires coming out of the projector body

If anyone had experience making the FX35 Bi-xenon projectors work. please share on how it's done.
