ICE Liquid Clay Bar by Turtle Wax

I saw an infomercial promoting the ICE line by Turtle Wax. The only thing of interest was their liquid clay bar. Then I saw it on the rack at Target for about $15.
Anybody know anything about it? Easier to use than old fashioned clay bars?

honestly, it's made by turtle wax. that alone should tell you. i'm not saying they don't make good stuff, but they aren't known for making the best stuff either.

Buy a legit clay bar and never look back.

I used Meguiar's Clay bar kit. 100% recommended, my paint was dirty, completely 'textured' to the touch.

Now is 100% clean, love it. And yes, used Gold Class Paste Wax from Meguiar's, old style, but it looks NICE.

SO, has anyone got first hand experience with this liquid clay product? I'm asking because I'm considering purchasing it. I've never clayed my car before and I'm wondering how this product compares to a real clay bar. Results wise that is.

Reviews are that it is better than nothing. But nowhere as good as a proper clay bar.

You know its funny how down play a company that is been in this business for a long time they know exactly what they are doing and compete w/ the best. I would have to disagree w/ your statement that they dont make a great product because they do.

They make good products at reasonable prices. There are far better products out there for similar, slightly higher and/or significantly higher prices.

Turtle Wax has two core businesses, retail and commercial. The stuff they put out for retail consumption is good for what it is, however it's catered to the Joe and Jane's who want affordable, easy to apply products.

Their commercial-grade products are also good for what they are, but are mostly products for the automated carwash industry and still not what i would consider to be the best.

My point is, if you're a pro or well near it, and have compared Turtle Wax output with that of better products, the difference is quite apparent. Turtle Wax, as a company, has a niche and that's what's keeping them in business.

I don't quite agree with the phrase 'you get what you pay for'. Sometimes, not always, you get a real bargain that is high quality + extremely reliable, in other words as good as the expensive brands. Unfortunately for car detailing, you have to spend some money to see your car truly shine.

Bottom line, if you are willing to spend a few hours washing and waxing your car, maybe also claying, it's better to spend $5 or $10 extra for all the effort you're putting through. Believe me, the results do shine, nicely!

And yes, I prefer Meguiar's for almost everything

I never said you get what you pay for, take note i did say "There are far better products out there for similar, slightly higher and/or significantly higher prices"

Going back to the original post, TW Liquid Clay bar is basically their fancy name for a paint cleanser. It works as advertised, but doesn't work as well as a real clay bar. Think about what a bar does and how it works and you'll understand why the liquid clay is just considered a cleanser.
