the weirdest thing happened...
my check engine light has been on for about 2 weeks now. however when i started up the car to go to class this morning, the light was no longer on. hasnt come back on all day. should this cause concern? or should i just assume it was something silly that fixed itself?
is there a way to look into what it WAS? or should i just let it slide?
im so very confused.

no i dont have a scanner, i could run by autozone if you guys think i still should.
im about half tank, filled about halfway through the light being on. think that could still be it?
oh and i swear my car was chugging too and that now its not... it might be my imagination but im not entirely sure.

do hear any knock from the cheap gas? My car goes crazy if i use 89. I only use BP or Shell 93 octane. Sometimes when i go to the track i get that 110 stuff..but for u don't go that high because i could care less if my engine goes out... just gives me another reason to swap.

or rather, there has to be a reason it comes on. hmmmm

50 turns of the key will reset the CEL. My car does this all the time but the light comes back on. LOL,matter of fact it's off right now. Hopefully it won't came back on but i knwo it will because i'm getting front right 02 censor code.
Their's a chance it will stay off for a while but it may very well come back on.

but i guess after about 2 weeks i drove about 50 times. this is interesting.
It's not 50 times its more like 15-20 drive cycles. And it just turns the light off, the code is still stored in the ECU. Get it read by a scanner. Don't just use an autozone scanner. Go to a dealership and spend the 75 bucks for the one hour of labor and really find out whats wrong with your car. The Snap-on brick they should use will tell you everything about a car.
i had a rear o2 code for about 4 months and the light never went away, i changed the sensor and its gone
i would assume i drove more than 50 times in those 4 months so i dont think there is such a count in the ecu. why would the ECU want/need to be constantly reset ?

jesus... does no one know how to use a screw driver?
Just read the codes yourself. If that doesn't yield anything, then consider letting the dealer rape you and tell you what's wrong and how many 100's/1000's it will cost to fix. And if it's just a random light and you notice nothing wrong other than that, I would not take it to the dealer (in case you were going to). Also cheap gas does not cause the knock sensor to fail, but it will cause knock!

seriously if you're concerned check the code(s) yourself or take it to autozone to have them read. No need to spend money like someone stated by getting codes read from a dealer...that's just ridiculous at this point.
