My cousin bought an aftermarket filter which had a round adapter. It's nice, in terms of fit. But there is nowhere to connect the air temperature sensor. I checked out the Megamax page to see how it was done. This adapter connects right up against the AFM and then it's just the filter. I was told to just tie off the sensor, but I am of the belief that everything exists for a reason. Is it important to connect the sensor or should I just tie it off?

The only idea I had was to get like a piece of PVC pipe and then make a hole for the sensor.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

How's it goin~

I Just put my Cone Filter on about a week ago. Same problem as you. This is what you do:

Put the lil' sensor inside of your new filter, slide filter back on, screw the filter in. (The sensor should be dangling inside the new one)

I took my car in to get the sensor reset for 30 bucks. And a couple days after my dad put my sis's filter in, he found out a way to re-set it himself. ...damn...O Well.

After you put the sensor in the new one, start up your car again. Maybe it'll reset on its own !

This procedure is Very Easy once you figure it all out. Good Luck. You should be pleased with the deeper, more powerful sound your filter gives you.

Or just use a 1\2" drill bit and dill a hole in the metal end of the filter. Then insert the sensor and use 2 screws to hold it in place. I had it as suggested before just slipped in, and did this not too long ago. It looks MUCH better this way.

Yea. Either way your sensor will work just the same. And anything you ever do to your car...just remember..its a M A X I M A !! The fastest car in its class. Hands down. (4th gen.)
