Chain rattling noise won't go away after water pump change?

Hi guys, I changed my water pump followed the instruction here. Everything seems fine except the chain rattling noise won't completely go away after several short trips. I didn't change my tensioner since it looks fine. So how long it takes for timing chain to be quiet? Will it damage anything?

You probably didn't tighten down the pump correctly, if the pump goes in crooked then you'll have the problem your having and most likely you'll be leaking, check your coolant level if it's down dramatically and your sure you topped it off correctly, you could be leaking out your weep tube or into the timming chair cover and the coolant gets into your oil- I wouldn't drive the car if so. Take the three bolts off and turn them equally one at a time over and over again until they're tight- this ensures you pump is driven in perfectly straight---> check stickies and FSM for specs, torque, etc--rattling noise is common at begining but should go away after a couple of trips around the block.

The tensioner may have air in it that hasnt bled out. The FSM says to run the engine at 3k RPM steadily until chain noise quiets.
