your question rings weird to me...

what do u mean by "factory" ?

i mean, if u asked what the (stock) MTX can handle in terms of torque (or HP) i'd understand... but asking how much tq/HP a stock engine can handle doesnt sound right. It seems to me like a stock engine will handle whatever it is outputting...

Maybe i didnt get the question right, but i think it would make more sense to ask how much torque a stock MTX can handle and what is the most HP/Tq a modded 3.5 can safely output.

I don't really know what you mean by this... from the factory the cars are rated 255/246. To get more you have to mod, and as soon as you mod, then it's not really factory anymore...

How much horsepower has someone gotten out of the VQ35? I swear I read online somewhere about the 1000+ hp VQ35... might be wrong though.

If you are talking about the twin turbo 350z drag car it definatly does not have a stock bottom end, its been stroked, bored out, all components balanced, different rods, and etc....

IIRC The vq37hr is supposed to handle 1000+ w/ stock internals though

What mods do you have in mind in which the durability/longevity of the original equipment would come into play?

Holy Cheez! Do u remember any mention about transmission? Hecka, can the stock gearbox handle that? Assuming the 1000 HP peaks at around 4,000RPM would give us 1,300 Ft-Lbs of torque!!!

now, discarding the jet plane example give above, does anyone know what is the most a Maxima with stock transmission can output?

Thread is too vague and doesn't belong in advanced performance, IMO.

We need information, and lots of it. Out due to vagueness---->

theres a huge difference between what you can output and what is useable. you can output anything a g/z has output, but you cant really get that down. a stock 6spd HLSD can handle over 500hp (not the clutch, just the tranny) and probly into the 600's, but who knows until you blow one up?

6-speed is good for about 450 WTQ according to turboS13hatch (Travis). As far as how much the VQ35 can handle, it's all about the tune. It's been proven that you can squeeze 450+ relatively reliable WHP (for instance) out of the VQ35 if the tune is completely dialed-in yet many have blown engines < 350 WHP. It's all about the engine management.

Why is this in here again? Just had to ask...

has anyone blown a 6spd in the max before under reasonable conditions? ie: not driving over huge speed bumps at 20 or taking on potholes under WOT?

I will be running nitrous and other bolt ons. I was asking how much factory trans. And factory motor can handle. Like if I'm putting 400 to the wheels will the tranny handle it. Same with motor?

Thanks

Also, I though more appropriate to post in 5th gen forums but I guess someone moved it.

the tranny should hold it with an aftermarket clutch and the engine will hold it if you get a good tune for the nitrous. if you dont tune with it youre running like a 150 shot?) then you have a pretty reasonable chance of having a problem

Yes the tranny can hold 400 WHP easily and so can the engine if your a/f and timing are in check.
