WTB: Rebuilt MT trans(non-lsd or open diff)
I am looking to buy a rebuilt trans for my 96 Max. I was thinking about buying another trans but what is the point when eventually the new trans will have the same leaking seal and bad bearings problem?
I was also thinking about having a shop rebuild it but they will probably rebuild it to factory specs and probelms will still develop. Is there a shop that's located near the Washington D.C area/ Northern Virgina area that knows about Maximas and the whole "thick shims" problem.
Much help would be appreciated because, my trans is on the way out. Might have to even change some gears becuase even riding the clutch in 4 gear makes whining and grinding noises now.

wowoweewo .... Are you a DIY type guy at all? I am getting ready to rebuild my 5spd ... not looking forward to it, but gotta do it. However, if you're not really a DIY guy, this is a good way to go. Have you thought about a 6spd at all instead of the 5spd?
btw: I think that "open diff and non-VLSD" are the same ... no? Could be wrong ... happened once before ... such BS! LOL
