If you want to get a chrome finish on a vg intake manifold. Good luck.

-Clean it with a wire wheel.
-Sand with 150, 220, 400 wet, 800wet , 2000wet
-Polish wheel fora drill, wheel for a dremel. I used a felt DuraPolish or something for aluminum.

Valve covers you need to send out to a chrome shop.

I went with the polish look for mine i started a week or two ago and here is as far as i got with it i started with a 60 grit wheel and 80 grit wheel to smoothen the surface of the intake plenium. After that it was all by hand and lots of elbow greese. After that i polish with a tripoli rouge and then with a white rouge. As you can see on a few pictures that i didnt polish the entire manifold yet waiting for day off without heat above 112 degrees.

Here's one of my valve covers half way done. I don't have a pic of it at the 2000 grit stage, but here is one at 600 grit.
