07 Maxima Factory Navi

Anyone have it? Anyone test it out for a considerable period of time? No Maxima at my local stealership has a Navi for me to even play with.

So is it decent? Good? Great? Or does it suck and why?

I'm shopping and I want to know if I should spend the extra $ for it.

I've got it... it isn't bad... before I had a Garmin 2720 I used in my old Altima. The only thing that sucks is it uses a "joystick" to move around as opposed to touchscreen like in the 07/08 Alti's.

For me it's worth it to just have it add integrated and not have a ton of crap hanging off my windshield.

It hasn't got me lost yet! I say spring for it!

Yeah I have the factory NAV as well. I like it because its stock and like matty said its all integrated into the dash. Not being touch screen kind of sucks, but I don't use it so often that its a big deal. Overall its still a pretty good system.

It really comes down to if you ever plan on upgrading in the future. I'm not sure how the climate control / radio info is shown on the non-nav Max, but with the Nav all this is displayed on the same screen. So if you ever wanted to upgrade the screen or nav system down the road it may be an issue keeping this information visible to you. Just something to think about.

Yes I have it. It's a much better system than the nav I had in my '04. I like the "hourglass" feature that tells you how soon to turn--much better than the '04 . Also the split screen feature is the nuts! Go for it!

Can the system be added after market by a Nissan dealer? I have a 2004 and wondered if there is a retro fit kit for an upgrade to nav or does it have to be ordered as an option?

not sure about the retrofit...I believe you might need a different windshield too...something to do with an "antenna" for the nav system. check with a dealer.

Honestly, if your comfortable with modding.... i'd get aftermarket....

I, if i can, would love to trade my factory nav for a factory radio w/ some cash... but as mentioned... it is said that it will cost a lot more to swap, then just swapping hu's/brains/screens ....

I have it and it is the first one I have had that is integrated in the system. Very good at finding locations and have not gotten lost yet. Like the way it sets you up for turns well before you get to the intersections. Go for it.
