Looking to see if anyone has pics or has at least pulled their radio out of their 2000 and/or 2001 Max yet. I'm dying to figure out a way to get the steering wheels controls in, even though EVERYONE says it can't be done. I'm sure it takes a bit of work but is possible.

The little bit I've been told is there is no one master wire for the radio controls. Each button uses a different wire, so there should be a good bundle running to the 2001 radio.

Anything you have guys would be appreciative. I'll figure this out yet - I'm starting to realize it's a decent reach to get to the radio buttons while cruising!

On the back of the bose radio, there are a few spare connectors. If you have the changer installed, there should be 1 spare connector left. I think this is for the steering wheel controls, though I'm not 100% positive. It looks like a connector with many different wires.

Looking at the steering wheel area, routing the wires through and down the inside of the steering column is gonna be a beeyatch. I haven't given up yet so if you find out any more info. please post.

Remove the top vent assembly... pull up and out (toward you). Remove the ashtray and screw. Remove shifter trim from bottom (closest to you) and work your way up. You'll see 4 screws, 2 above and 2 below the radio.

It's been a while since I pulled out the radio so
for complete details, do a search cuz instructions have been posted many times before.
