6th gen trunk lid needed

Does any know where I can get a deal on a trunk lid for an 05 max without a factory spoiler on it/ no holes? Used or not doesn't matter with no damage to it.

I tried ebay . Haven't tried craiglist yet will do though! I bought a 07 spoiler and need a trunk lid with no holes so Ican put it on. My factory lip spoiler shows the holes when I removed it when the new one is on. The body shop says bondo won't hold that good and the aluminum trunk lid holes would have to be argon welded. The welder says that more than likely the welding wil cause the deck lid to warp! WTF! You think they would make the 07 spoilers so they would cover the old holes.

I would stop someone on the street and offer to trade. They'll think they're getting a helluva deal with the factory lip.

Better yet, test drive an SL and do it yourself.

Smoooooth! I would recommend test driving one with the same color as your ride, or they might catch on!

Check a local salvage yard?

By the way, what happened to yours?

trunk lid

Mine is in perfect condition with a factory lip spoiler a15 sonoma sunset red. My new 07 max spoiler does not cover the lip spoiler holes and to make it so it will last they say the holes have to be welded. Which causes the rear deck to warp because nissan makes the aluminum trunk lid too thin. So its easy to try to get another lid without a spoiler.

Not necessarily, you can weld aluminum. Its more difficult but a professional should have no issue welding and guaranteeing their work. I'd say try other welding shops to see what they have to say. But I agree that bondo is a big no no, after slamming the trunk a few times you would be able to see cracks.

I got ECU and upper/lower Intake manifold at car-parts.com. I was looking for a black trunk lid but at $300-400, I decided to get a G35 spoiler instead. I saw lids with other color go for as low as $200.

so the G35 spoiler covered the holes from the factory lip or did you just put in on top of it?

Doing like Chernmax. Keeping the lip spoiler and adding new one on the lid, no overlap. It should be here any day.

Thanks Burny! If the welder warps my trunk welding the old factory lip spoiler holes I'll be looking for a new one.

Can you say CHEESE!!!! That does NOT look nice at all. Maybe you should install a factory wing off a 1982 911 while you are at it.

Just an honest opinion.....

07 spoiler install

I finally found a aluminum welder that was confident enough to weld the stock lip spoiler holes on my rear trunk lid! It only cost me $25 by an old timer welder in my town. I had others say they would do it but wouldn't garuntee they wouldn't warp it do to the heat and wanted $24 a hole. There are a total of 5 holes. Bodyshop is going to try to get me in this Thursday to paint the lid.
