Silence is Golden - Fixed Front /E Squeak

Have had the same front end squeak that many on this forum have been complaining about. All the major suspension components up front are new within the last couple of years, so I was perplexed. I'm all stock except for the Monroe struts. Got digging around and found that the noise was coming from the sway bar. Mounts and end links are new within the last year or two, but I took them off to inspect anyway. Found some sort of residue on my sway bar where the mounts go...kinda whitish in color. I'm guessing that after 10 years of driving, stuff worked it's way in there and just got embedded. I cleaned that off and put a small amount of rubber grease (like that you use for your brake caliper pins) on the bushing before re-installing it. I also put a small amount of rubber grease on the end link rubber bushings before re-installing them. One observation on the re-install.... the right side of my sway bar is slightly cocked upward, which prevented me from lining up the end link bushings while the bottom bolt was bolted to the control arm, so I tightened the bushings first with the bottom bolt unattached, then finished up by attaching the bottom bolt. Looks like all the noise is completely gone. Bottom line - look to the sway bar first and check both sides since one side making noise can easily make noise that transmits across the entire front end.

A few times I've worked on a fsb and it didn't line up when reattaching. It was either because the other side wheel was still on, or I didn't evenly jack up the car.

Did you upgrade the mounts/bushings?

No...everything is stock. Tried the upgrade before and liked the handling part, but picked up squeaks and some harshness, so I switched back to new stock parts.
