budget y pipe = 0302 code - then fixes itself ??

i replaced my stock y-pipe with a LSS Budget Y-pipe two weeks ago (and it does make a nice difference fyi). After 60 miles of driving the check engine light came on and it was an 0302 code. I figured that it was an exhaust leak and I didnt tighten something down enough (one of the studs was striped and I had to jimy-rig it with a different nut to tighten down).

So i figured my half *** fix it job on that stud wasnt going ot work and I needed to fix it right and replace the stud. I planned to do this the next weekend when I had time to mess with it. but after 1000 miles the CEL light went away?

Has anyone else had this happen? The only concusion I can think of is that the ecu was adjusting to the increased airflow going through the exhaust. I have a stillen catback and before it was quite like stock but with the y-pipe it is rather loud.

Thanks.

I know it's off topic, but I just wanted to ask if you personally hear a bee's in the can sound with the new y-pipe? Is the new noise annoying or does it sound good?

Thanks,
Kevin

Funny you mention that. My 0302 code has been coming and going for a few months now. It'll come on for about a week or so, then go away, then come back by itself. I don't get it

Lets keep it on topic, but no it does not sound like it has "bees in the can." Or a riced up honda that makes a crap load of noise but still doesnt seam to be moving at all. It is louder for sure, but it is deep and throaty. the only annoying part is that it does droan abit if you are not on it and accelerating normally below 3K. But if youve got the music up and moditerly accelerating it sounds great....plus it pulls like a beast compared to before! Just get one its only 220 shipped and you will get used to the noise.
