yah so i closed my trunk and my nissan logo fell off, I decided then to leave it off but the paint may be falling apart where it used to hang,,, i took The "MAXIMA" logo off and i am having the same problem under some of the letters, i dont think it is left over glue, do i need to go out and buy some kind of waxing paint, i know a lot of people take the decals off, so there must be some better way to do it
thanks for any responses

hey.
Wash wash and wash some more. Make sure all the glue is gone and then wash, use some detailers spray and wash some more. You can still kind of see mine and I did it a few months ago. It takes time and will never completly go away.

RE: Emblem Removal...

Firstly, go out to Food Lion, Farm Fresh, or whatever and buy a product known as Goo-Gone. It will remove all of the goo left over from the emblems. Also, did you use a hair dryer to heat up the emblems before removing them? This will loosen up the letter and glue so it will not peel of paint. However, after you use Goo-Gone, if the paint is still coming of, you will need to repaint your trunk lid. I know this sounds like a HUGE deal, but lots of people who removed the emblems improperly have to do this to make their trunk look good. The only other option you have is trying to stick the emblems back, or buying some decals or badges to cover the paint off. However, I do reccomend you repaint the trunk, seeing that this is what most people have to do. Just trying to help...sorry you paint peeled off. You can try using a paint restorer such as the Meguiars 3-step scratch/scrape/oxidation remover, but you will most likely have to repaint the trunk.

i think the scratch scarpe oxidation is what i need, my paint did not peel off but the surface feels like fine sandpaper in some places so i think some scratch remover might do the trick, thanks for the reply's, i have been washing the damn thing for an hour,

RE: Rough Trunk...

You're right. If all you have is a rough trunk, you should use Meguiars, and then a good wax such as Zymol or maybe Meguairs Wax-Cleaner. If you did not strip any paint you should be fine. Just trying to help.
