new struts, new noise

so i put on some used good working koni's. and now when i drive my car i hear a slight clunk sound as i hit bumps. even driving over a manhole will cause it. did i screw up somehow on something, or could it be my control arm bushings? they are stock, 1992

it could be the bushing since the car is 15 years old but you couldnt just rule those to be the causing factor of the noise. Look at all the mounts and the components of the suspension might be something else other then just bushings or that also could be one of the causing factors of your problem.

Check the proper tightening of all of the nuts and bolts, especially the ball joint, suspension and shock top nuts. These parts should be tight, without any gaps or play.

i put tokico's on mine about two months ago...along with the factory springs, and the same thing was happening to me. after about a week or two of it (it didn't sound bad enough to do anything major,) it just went away.
