Do you trust your stock tires?

The stockers provided fun. My Toyo Proxes FZ4s provide too much grip....my T1S on Kinesis rims on the track...forget it...I can slide like I did when I had my stockers on. When I expect it to break loose and get ready for counter steer...and I don't feel it ready to break...and I gun it to provoke it a bit, what a wonderful feeling when it finally does, and then the inside wheel finally hits the ground....Thats f***en cornering....

But if the road is really dry then I'm ok. Cornering with the stock RE92's are a different story.
In the dry they are not too bad. In the wet they are (choose one of: fun, scary). In the wet it's just too much fun to parking-brake a u-turn.
While automatics may be pegged at 133, Manuals can do 140-141. That is when the drag limit hits. I had it up there a few times and everything is rock solid.
They seem to stand up to abuse very well.

Only when the road is bone dry...
and I am going in a straight line or taking gentle twisties.
When wet forget it, took a left turn at light the other day in the wet, was going about 15mph (to try and make the light) could feel the the car slide. Not fun. So now in the wet I am real gentle (and slow)with the car.

So if the car is lowered it will help out on top end? Does anyone know what the top speed of a 5spd 2K+ is at 6700rpm?

Be sure not to run any accessories while doing this. Your alternator does not know how much to recharge your battery. I was running my radio before, and listening to music loud and when i slowed down, and shut off the car, the car wouldn't start, so I too precautions now.
I think the Apex Rev/Speed Meter can bypass the speed limiter, but I'm not too certain.

In my last post, I hit 145 a few times, car was still pulling, could probably hit 150+ but I am not that crazy.

3 questions in one?
I have 33psi all the way around now
What is the best PSI pressure for launching on the stock tires?
What is the best psi for cornering? I have 33psi now and it squeels like a pig in medium hard cornering. (i have a fstb/rsb as well).
What is the best PSI for highway driving?
So I guess the question really is what is the best over all PSI for front/rear on our stock tires?

I'm OK with the stock Potenzas for now. Based on what I've read in this post and other posts like it, I NEVER push them in wet weather. Of course, living in Los Angeles helps a lot.
My problem is figuring out what I'm going to do when it comes time to replace the Potenzas. I'd like to keep my stock SE rims, but that seriously limits my choices. I like the looks of the Nitto 450s but I hear they suck big time. So I may have to opt for the Michelin Pilot XGT Z4s at $182 per tire.
It wouldn't cost that much more to pick up a set of inexpensive or used 17 x 7.5" rims and buy some Kumho Ecstas in 245/45R17 instead. I guess I'll make that decision when the time comes.

1. madmax2k launched his auto with 20psi and got 14.38(i think)
2.As the psi is low you have more traction but more drag(lower speed, more fuel is required, the car feels softer on the road and not good for the tire) more psi...less traction, less fuel, better for the tire, road feels harder)
3.For highway the best psi is the high psi...you don't need traction, less fuel, there are no bumps so the road feels good)
The overall the Nissan recommends is 32 all around...i heard a lot putting 33,i put 32, but on my last car they told me 32 at front, and 26 at back so you can play with that...but i think 33 is good for everything
5 or 10 miles... Einstein said somthing about .5M*v^2
5 miles makes a diff at that speed.
The highest I got mine was 141 with 2 other 200 pund guys in my car. I capped at 141 @6100 RPM, certainly it had 300-500 RPM before bouncing off the limiter. So, 145 is certainly not out of the question given the right conditions.

Potenza RE92's
No... I keep nursing mine, hoping someone will come out with a reasonably priced, high quality, stock size tire. Otherwise, I plan to buck up for Michelins. BTW, Bridgestone must have a great salesperson somewhere - I saw a new WRX with RE92's as well. I have know idea why manufacturers are putting such a lame tire on great cars like the Max.
