Power or Looks?

alright guys.....
i've been thinking, and contemplating a lot lately about what i really want to do with my car. I have recently gotten the VQ35 swap with basic intake, y-pipe, catback exhaust. the car pretty much looks just like it is on the sig.
So i either keep the car the way it is right now or part out with the hood, kit, and getting rid of my axis wheels (18's) along with the new tires i have for the axis for my old 17's (Velox pg-5) and with whatever money i get, add some more money (Maybe about $400-$500?) and go back to a supercharger.

Kit is what pretty much makes my maxima so sexy.
So Sacrifice Looks for more performance? or go with some looks with decent power?

I know you guys are going to say "Do what makes me happy" but im in the middle of both worlds here and just want to see what you guys would do if you were in my shoes.
Thanx guys.

Peter

Personally, I would go for performance every time. I like the idea of my car being a big sleeper.

I like looks first. That is the first thing I am doing to my car. And when my looks are half way though I start a little bit performances like Exhaust upgrades etc...

Are you using VQ30 timing or VQ35? If you still have the 3.5 timing cover you won't be able to use the blower (at least the plates currently available).

You've got a 4.5 gen and you're looking for more power? Heh...I'd say go complete sleeper (minus blower whine).

A subtle combination of both. Which, IMO, your car already has.

wait, you have a 3.5 and you want more power? your car looks sick the way it is. just keep saving for the sc, you'd be taking the more expensive route by selling everything. because later on you'll want ur kit back along with your rims and all else.

i would also say to stay as you are

your car looks very very nice and a 3.5 swap would deff have enough power

but if you do part out the hood i got 2nd dibs:P

Go back to your Velox wheels (good looking and extremely lightweight), sell your new rims and tires, save up the rest for the SC. Maybe even sell your Work rims ?? (assuming they're heavy) Keep the hood and kit. It may take a little longer to save up, but then you'll have it all. Power and looks. That's what I would do Peter.

haha, you guys know, i've been sc'd before, so i do want to get that power again.....
James, seems that no matter how much time i take to save for a sc, that money never reaches the amount i need haha. Its very hard to hold on to money these days.
we'll see i guess.... thanx for all the replies guys!
ill get rid of my old wheels for now.

your car looks totally sick the way it is, if u want to be a 'big sleeper' get a SC with hubcaps. lol.

if you dont race, save the money and dont buy the chargerr. But if u like speed and have the money for gas, go right ahead. BUT THE LOOKS ARE SWEET. "NARLY, totally awesome dude"

Your car looks awesome so leave it as it is and wait a little longer and save up for the supercharger. But honestly I can't believe you have a 4.5 and want even more power.

Either way your maxima looks awesome keep up the good work.

looks AND power. you can have both, i dont see any reason why not by reading your post. s/c it up with 3000 for a killer setup. just buy all the parts on a 0 percent interest card and pay it off in 6 months. ull enjoy it WHILE you own it ! socal needs more boosted max's if u ask me

edit: before you finance majors jump in and flame me, i have no debt, thank you

yo mike, i can put it on a 0% card but id prefer buying cash. I am currently taking care of my family including rent, so if i do want to boost, i need to sell some stuff off my car, that is why i go either one way or another ya kno?
i do want both, but i gotta choose.....

well, the only reason you "gotta" choose is because you want both right NOW but you cant have both due to financial reasons. and i think its because you know that its gonna take you a long time to save up $3000 for s/c and since u dont want to wait that long, you are willing to part out your car for some quick cash.

in modding cars, over the years i have learned that if i want something really bad, ill eventually get it. i used to save up and pay for everything cash but i learned that cash or credit card, the money comes out of the pocket anyways. and MY opinon is if im gonna spend the money, i might as well enjoy the most out of it as well. if its going to take 1 year to save up $3000 by saving $250 a month, then why not spend the $3000 right now on a credit card and pay it off using that $250 a month. either way the $3000 will be spent but the difference is that you will be boosted a year in advance.

if you are saying that you dont want to spend ANYMORE money on the car then thats a diff story.

just my two cents

For me it's all go no show, if I could trade my 3.5 for a normal paint-job instead of having three different colors I still wouldn't do it.But for you, look at it this way, you will get nowhere near what you payed for everything, so why bother? keep it as it is for now, really nice looking and fast. I can attest to having a 4.5 gen and still lusting after even more power, I think I'm gonna put my nitrous kit on in a few weeks
