I know, I know, there has probably been complaints from here to CA about this Schizznit, but I am wondering if anyone found a way to repaint the bumpers again and have them NOT fade. I went to a bady shop and he told me that there was no way to do it. I am just wondering if anyone has successfully had their bumpers painted without fade?

UV protection is what it's all about. Use paint treatment or wax that has it.

Also, avoid automatic car washes, even "brushless" ones. After witnessing a few painted bumper covers of other cars that frequent them, I significantly limit my exposure to them (occasionally in winter, that's it).

RE: Bumper Fading...

I don't think there is really anything to stop it. I worked at a detailing shop and had my car detailed every week. Used all kinds of chemicals, but I couldn'y stop the fading. Finally I just bought a bra and covered up my front end. I think it looks much better, plus I do 40 miles of driving daily - I need the bra more than anyone. Just trying to help .

In these Maximas bumpers, they use special steel manufactured by nissan called Durasteel. They always change color when wet or moist.
