So my car would stall and such on cold, but ok after warm up. Wouldn't shift into gear when cold also. I ruled everything out except the IACV. Cleaned it and it was so much better. No problems at all for about 2 days. Till now. When i put o/d on, the rpms won't hold. Put into 2nd or 1st rpms won't hold. I would put it in 2nd the engine won't kick in until the rpms are where its suppose to be it, but then jerk right before it gets there. I have an auto btw. I just want to make sure that i need a new IACV before i spend $180 for one.

 

sounds like you need one, if after cleaning it you saw an improvement and then things went back to "normal". BTW, how many miles does your car have?

 

my car's got like 153k.....my mechanic looked at it n he said that my tranny is going...hopefully he's wrong even though hes a pretty good mechanic

 

i have an IACV off of a 95 5 spd. it should be the same as yours but im not sure. ill sell it to you as im parting out my car. 108k miles, never had problems with it

only cel i get is one for evap.....n i fixed it..but it came back..but thats the only thing thats wrong....grrrr...but i drove it today n its fine...wanted to stall in the beginning when i first put it in drive i guess when the engine was still cold even tho i had let it warm up a good amount...
