I have a 01 SE, and am looking for a way to fix my hood from rattling. It rattles most when going about 10-30mph.
I've taken it to Courtesy and they told me the spring needed to be adjusted, which they did but the next day the noise was back.

I've noticed that I can push down on the hood when it is closed and it will move about a centimeter, I have also tried this on a friends 01 maxima and it moves also.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

Yeah I have the same problem on my car. Whenever you go over bumps you can hear thumping. If you look at the u-shaped piece of metal that comes out of your hood in the front, that piece is "bottoming out in the clamp or latch that holds the hood down. I put a piece of towel through that latych and then closed the hood on top of it for a temporary fix until the dealer can look at it. It lasts about a week until the latch chews through it. Let me know if you get a solution.
