I would keep all the tire I could gather, photograph it all! Then call Goodyear and mention it to them. Also, casually hint that you heard about the recall and thought that it might cover yours as well.

They should cover it. Hopefully they'll do it without much fighting.

Threaten to sue because of possible injuries that could have been caused, both physical and mental...hey, it's America, anything is possible!

I just had two of my tires replaced by Goodyear this past monday and did not pay a penny and with no hassle at all. One of the tires actually blew while I was driving on the freeway and had to get some work done, and the goodyear rep actually gave me the adress to get money back for the two tires I already replaced and to possibly get my deductible back.

Just go to a goodyear dealer and it will be taken care of. If you had to buy a new tire after the blow-out. They will give you the money back. This happened to me. Also check for cracks on the other tires. Let uys know what happens.

They replaced the bad tire with another RSA and did a visual inspection of the other 3. Apparently there was noting wrong with the others. Yet there were no cracks on the one that blew...interesting...I checked out the manufacturing dates and they were indeed made on and before the 31st week of 2004, one was exactly 3104, and two others dated back to 1999 and 2000, I forgot to check the one which was blown.

I asked them to dismount the others but I would have to pay $100 for them to do so. Anyway, I'm not so sure as to what to do...get new tires? or stick with these and hope nothing happens...

Should report the blowout to the NHTSA before somebody gets killed. Goodyear is saying the cracks are cosmetic only but I think its bull..
Did you check yourself for hair line cracks?

Call them at 1-800-321-2136. Say you almost lost control, have no confidence on the other 3 tires but that the dealer will not replace the other three. And you regularly check the air pressure for 32 lbs. Got to try.

Thanks for the advice, I felt helpless at the GY center, they shot down most of my requests; on another note, they took my blown tire + pieces, I don't think I will have enough proof if any.

good thing nothing bad happened (other than a blowout), but if it was me, I would never go back to the same tires ever again. If it's possible, try to get them to pay for a different kind of tire, even if u have to pay a little difference over.

A receipt is proof enough. Also tell them the shop wanted to charge you for checking out the other tires. You also want to find out from Nissan why '04 tires and earlier ones were put on your car. There were problems with these, I changed mine twice. Good luck

I'm worried about mine. Now that I look a little closer, I have a buble sticking out of the driver side front tire sidewall. Oh man!

How can I confirm the year these tires were made and if they fall under this recall?

The RSA tire has been known to "split" on the sidewalls. Please check them atleast when rotating or during oil changes for defects. If you find a split contact Goodyear for warranty. 1-800-321-2136 start a claim first then head to your closest GY.

You should get atleast the defective tire(s) replaced free. Some like myself convinced GY customer service to replace all 4 with a different tire w/in the GY company. I went with the
Dunlop SP 5000 M <---click

Well I filed a complaint against GY with the NHTSA, they said within 3-4 weeks an investigation agent should be contacting me...on the site I saw 23 other complaints but I guess there are not enough complaints to officially make it recall status. The rep on the phone was VERY helpful...more of you guys should take 15 minutes to do it(if you have not) and hopefully make a large impression.

File complaint here...
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

On a side note I noticed that about 75% of 6th genners are 2004's...interesting...
