How much have you invested?

How much have you invested on your maxima including price of the car and any and all upgrades/man.?

I prolly spent about 4k-5k all together...(1200 for the car, 900 tranny, about 1350 in audio, manitance, tires, tint, "my accenident" here and there and little odds and ends) Im only 18 and had my car for 1 year and plan to drop some more money into it. But my g/f whines all the time about it...I cant find a midway...

I would say i dont love my car but i was told that i do and i joke around saying that i do..but i treat my old jimmy the same way i wash my car every other day keep it clean and smelling good. And i try to keep up on the manitance and buy the better parts for it not the cheapest...

Hmmm Well my car was $4500 + (needed work right when I bought it) $500 + Starter $150 + Radiator/Honda 100K Coolant $180 + 2 Alternators $200 (The first one broke within the return date) + New Plt plugs, fuel filter$80 + $70 Door actuator (the door lock would either lock the door for a long time or not lock it at all, drivers door btw... salvage yard replacement) + 3 sets of tires $800 + Two sets of Brake pads 1 set of rotors $150?? + Original speakers were falling apart so new Pioneers all around $100= Approx $6730 + Oil changes... Alot

Currently the Tranny is slipping, and a slow leak of something... not sure yet...
All prices were parts only, DIY FTW!

I have owned the car for 2 years and have put 31k on it I bought it at 62K now at 93K..

I think I got a lemon.. oh well I foresee a Mits Lancer in my near future.

0 invested.

While I have spent money on the car, I don't consider putting money into a car, an investment.

+1. My Maxima depreciates ... it never appreciates. The rate at which it depreciates is dependant on how much money I spend keeping it in good working order. My car is not an asset - it's a liability.
