Mevi with Stock ECU

I only have the JWT ECU for a short period of time to experiment with my MEVI cause my boy need it back. However, I was wondering in the mean time until I buy my own JWT or TS, if the MEVI will still be effective with the stock ECU.

Effective in what way?

All around power(area under the curve), no. High end power, yes.

It wil still work, but you will not get the full effect since your not able to go above the 6500rpm mark which is where the MEVI shines.
Also, you will more then likely noitce a bit of a power loss in the midrange without the modded ecu.
BTW, if I remeber correctly TS was never really able to raise the rev limiter successfully on all the 4th gen ecus.

Is a TS ECU worth the cost if you are using a MEVI and limited to stock redline? I thought I saw a dyno once of the TS ECU making more power than the JWT through a more aggressive timing curve? Anyone have a dyno link for comparison?

W/out a rev limit, the MEVI isn't seeing full potential.

Check the dyno section, use free search.

+1. Very, very few TS ECU's ever had the extended rev limiter.

Your best bet is to go for the JWT..........or EU

MEVI and stock ECU: My 1/4 mile ET has not gone up but my MPH did slightly. My 1/8 mile is worse by a bit.

that's how mine was too pretty much but my 1/4 mile speed didn't really even go up. my 1/8th got a little worse.

it changes the nature of the car, you can definitely feel that it has more pull above 5500 but less below.

Yeah, if you search i contemplated on the same thing. I ended up getting the ECU first. If you do a lot of city driving you will notice the lack of mid/low. you would only notice a loss, because in city driving you never really go to redline which is where you notice the biggest difference. On the highway you would, because your higher up in the speed and more likely to open it up.

I went with the JWT ECU with the 7200RPM Rev limiter, and all ill say is, its probably one of my favorite mods ive done. power/torque is much better. I pretty much have all the bolt ons, so the ecu and mevi/00vi was the only thing left. I notice top end it pulls better, but the biggest difference is the mid-low range power, definately has more pull.

next mod is the mevi/00vi, and oh god im looking forward to that
