Maxima SOLD, it hurt - but...
Hey Guys,
It has been a great 15 months with the Maxima. My 2001 SE 5SP served me very well. After dumping a good chunk of change on the car on MODS, it is out the door. A 21 year old kid bought it and left with a HUGE grin on his face. I wish it would have stayed within the ORG but oh well.
I wanted to thank you all for all your help, anytime I needed an answer someone here always threw in their 2cents worth to help me resolve whatever it was. I truly appreciate that. If you are not a donating member, DONATE. Best 25 bucks for 15 months spent.
I sold the car for $10,200. After paying 11k and dumping a good 1200 in mods. I consider it was ok after the 15 months of GREAT service. Unfortunately, I don't think I would ever buy another Maxima, the new ones are too boaty for my taste.
In case you guys are wondering my next vehicle will be a crew cab Tacoma. I had surgery last week and can't leave the house for at least another week so it will take me a while to get out there. I'm trying to decide between New and Used. The used ones are only about 3k more than the new ones so its kind of not making any sense to go used.
Well... Thanks AGAIN
Roddy

Roddy,
I am so sorry to hear that we have lost a Maxima Member. Maybe I missed it in your statement, but why the sell? You sounded like you were incredibly happy with your car.
Does the new owner live locally? I wonder how often you'll see your car and will he take care of it the way you did?
Good luck with your Tacoma!

Sorry to hear that you sold your Maxima, but Tacomas are GREAT trucks. If you want a truck you are thinking about buying the right one. If I were you, I'd go new if you can afford it. But you can also find some nice used ones if you would rather not spend so much. But Tacomas hold their value so it really wouldn't be much cheaper to get a Tacoma with 30k miles on it. You might as well get one new.
just as an FYI any car on a dealer lot is 3k-5k marked up(i know i'v sold cars at multiple stealerships). if you don't talk them down 3k off the starting price your getting hosed. So they really are around 6k cheaper.

I always knew that the first person that saw it would buy it and that is exactly how it happened.
